Thank you for being part of the Fort Logan Elementary family. Fort Logan opened its doors in 1923 and has been educating children for the past 84 years. We serve approximately 300 students enrolled in grades three through five. We are glad to have you and your child as part of the Fort Logan community.
At Fort Logan the entire staff provides a safe and nurturing environment where all students benefit from outstanding learning opportunities. While we stress literacy and mathematics, we are also proud of the other learning opportunities we provide in the areas of social skill development, physical education, performing arts, visual arts, and technology. This year’s schedule will permit us even more time to devote to math and writing instruction. Our intervention and extended day programs provide additional support for our students to help them be successful.
As parents you play a critical role in your child’s education and future success. Schools with high levels of family support show higher achievement gains for their students. We need your help in supporting your child’s efforts to learn both at home and at school. Additionally, we encourage frequent communication between you and school staff. Please consider getting involved in the many activities and organizations available at our school.
In order to promote a safe learning environment and to ensure the educational rights of all students, we expect our students to respect other people and property and accept responsibility for their behavior. We stress positive citizenship skills in an effort to help your child make safe choices. Your encouragement and support in this area is very important and greatly appreciated.
This handbook will acquaint you with our staff and some of the policies and procedures at Fort Logan. Please feel free to contact me with questions and concerns at any time throughout the school year at 720-833-6699.
Welcome to Fort Logan Elementary.
